Is the video is repeating at about 1:20 or am I suffering from Deja vu?

Oh good! I thought I was having a Deja Vu moment too. I just finished watching the show and tried to skim around the video to see if I could tell where the repeat was. I didn’t notice it and didn’t know what time it happened, but I was hoping someone else noticed something also.

The repeat is at 1:24:08, and then at 1:32:13 it continues.

Haven’t heard it yet, but can’t wait!

I hate to agree, when it comes to finding fault with Never Not Funny, but Eliot clearly delights in putting himself on camera as much as possible. I know for sure I never want to hear him lip synching Matt Belknap.

I’m glad he provides video, but MAN. Happy to hear other people think the same way I do. He’s just a little too much. I feel like Jimmy’s anger at him is mine, except mine is never fake

Since others have said something, I’ll say something. Since Eliot’s been more and more featured in the show. If Jimmy and Matt watch or listen to the podcast and understand the extent that Eliot insinuates himself into the show, then I think it’s great. If he’s taking it upon himself to do this? I don’t know. It’s a little distracting to say the least.

“Jackin’ fuckin’ idiot” made me lose my shit in the parking lot at work. I desperately hope no one saw me.

Great episode! Todd really brought the funny. I’m not sure why so many people are going all “Dice” and treating Elliot like he’s Dice’s Lady. When I saw him lip-synching Matt’s promo section I assumed something went wrong with the video of Matt so Elliot dubbed it himself later. Regardless, I found it rather funny.

I think Jimmy was just pulling our legs about not knowing when the “Tippecanoe and Tyler Too” thing happened. After all, it was only a few years before his favorite president, James K. Polk took office.

Really? You guys just watched a 90 minute podcast where the last 1/2 hour was all about hurting people’s feelings online and you come on here and trash Eliot? Come on..

Todd Glass is always a great guest! I did get a nice charge out of seeing Eliot lip-synch Matt’s plugs.

Casey took the words right out of my mouth. And the whole “since somebody else said something” argument doesn’t hold water for me. Take ownership of your own opinions, don’t try to make yourself feel better by stating that you didn’t throw the first proverbial stone.

I, for one, by the video JUST because of the stuff Eliot does. There are very few visual bits from the main show that would necessitate video. It’s cool to see, sure, but not worth $5. The creative stuff Eliot does with some of the editing and the aforementioned lip synching are the real treats. Easily worth $5, probably more.

And, more to the point of the purpose of this board, this episode was fantastic. Todd Glass is definitely in my top three favorite guests (if not number 1) and he did not disappoint. The HSN stuff up top, the AIDS joke, all of it was incredible. Todd’s podcast is one I definitely need to add to my rotation, have just been procrastinating lately.

Tied with Janet Varney for best episode of the season. Looking forward to resubscribing for season 11!

I love the video because it ads another dimension to the conversation. Being able to see the gestures, facial reactions, and body language really can make a huge difference when telling a joke.

@Sean: Really? 100 percent of the reason I buy the video is so I can see Jimmy, Matt and the guest, that’s one of the great things that distinguishes this podcast, I can watch it, not just listen to it. I like Elliot, I appreciate his hard work and I disagree with all the naysayers. My favorite thing about Elliot is how he’s the Jerry from parks and rec of NNF. If I had any criticism of Elliot at all, it’s that we don’t need him to show us photos (that we can barely see) of things that are being referenced on the show, I can pause the show and look up things myself, and I often do.

@Joe: Yeah, kinda. I mean, the show works SO well as an audio show that I rarely think “Oh man, I really wish I could see these guys”. I mainly do the audio/video to see the little Elliot flourishes.

And Elliot as Jerry is perfect. Can we make the Dan-Andy comparison then?

I love Eliot. He brings a nice edge to the show and the stuff that he does with the video are great. He’s definitely not afraid of trying something new.

I agree with Andrew F., this is my favorite of the season (and the JV one is up there, too!). I didn’t know Todd Glass had his own podcast; I’ll have to check it out.

Also, I liked that this one seemed a lot more positive than last weeks (*ducking*)

Really thought you called him a Jack Inferno idiot for a moment Jimmy, and I know you didn’t like my band, but to use it as an insult? What a joy!!

I usually don’t comment, but I had to give my two cents after the naysaying about Eliot. He does wonderful work with the video and I love seeing shots of him and Dan interspersed throughout the podcast. Well worth the $5.

Wasn’t sure where to post this. Would really like to go for the top tier package during the season 11 pre-sale but wanted to check whether you’d send the NNF swag to the UK. I have no problem paying the extra delivery costs.

Three things matter most to me when it comes to Eliot:

1. He’s a fantastic foil for all the gents, his comments are often helpful in figuring out stuff Dan hasn’t found yet, his laugh is fantastic, and he takes it all in stride.
2. He does a tremendous job with the video, and works hard to make it creative and special and worth the money in its own right.
3. He was Andrew’s choice to continue, and Andrew knew the show and Jimmy and Matt well enough to know Eliot was the right pick.

Depending on when you joined the podcast, you might not realize how often both Jimmy and the guests would shit on Matt (mostly for humor, sometimes because he was finding his voice and didn’t quite mesh) when he was coming into his own, and people would pile on in comments here with their views on what Matt did on the show. And you’re welcome to your opinion, but if you were one of those people, you can clearly see now what a hilarious gem Matt is, and how perfectly he responds to Jimmy and the guests and brings his own personality to the mix.

Anyone can take a video. Not everyone can be the video guy for NNF. Thanks for all the hard work, Eliot!

At the end of the day it just doesn’t get any better than Todd Glass on Never Not Funny! Loved this one!

I do not mean to belittle Eliot, and I love that he does video, and think he does a wonderful job shooting and editing (and singing disco). I’m happy I get to see the show. I think occasionally he adds things to the video that are distracting from the rest of the show. That’s all I meant. I hope no one took offense.

The Belknap lip-sync still haunts my dreams.
