Drilling down with Samm Levine.
“WHAT WORLD ARE YOU LIVING IN??” So happy for the triumphant return of Samm Levine!
Is that $100 rebate still in effect if you mention Never Not Funny?
What do I have to do to buy an episode?
Nice Ionly!!! I always thought S.O.D. stood for Scott Ian’s other band Stormtroopers of Death and their song Speak English or Die, looks like Scott knew Samm’s dad.
Oh boy. NNF is probually my favorite show in any medium, but when I saw Samm Levine as the guest I was not thrilled. I hear him on Kevin Pollack and Doug Loves Movie, and he had always bothered me to no end. But after listening to the whole interview this week I am happy to say… my opinion still hasn’t changed. Even if I philosophically agree with him on many things, it makes me want to abandon my belief system. He was great on Freaks and Geeks, but oh god it was great Jimmy laying into him now. Am I alone?
John, you’re not alone. It’s clear to me that Samm is insecure, which leads to irrational pretentiousness and defensiveness.
Then again, some people like comedians because they see those dark parts of themselves in them. I’m just not one of those people.
When the guys were discussing dental stuff and Lumineers I thought Jimmy said, “I’ve got Illuminatis!” I was waiting to hear how Jimmy’s teeth were trying to establish a new world order.
I really do like Samm, but I don’t understand why he’s so concerned with who things are intended for, and not whether they’re good.
I wear the same deodorant as Dan Katz. I’ve also heard people echo what Jimmy said about Old Spice, but after my type of Speed Stick stopped being made, I smelled all of the deodorants at the store and liked the Fresh Old Spice the best.
Did Samm’s mom have to circle the 7-11 while the podcast was recording?
Dave–
you misheard Jimmy. it was “Lou Malnati’s”, a Chicago pizza chain that Chicagoans swear by, despite it being just too much food.
I like every Chicago localism that Jimmy throws in. What do you think? 591-ROCK, 591-ROLL.
“MOD — Manager on duty — don’t think I didn’t have plenty of time to play that game in my head.” First 10 minutes were classic JP ranting. I played the story of the “sloth” at Staples for my two sons (high school) and they both wanted to hear it again!
