There will be blood with Tom Arnold.
Oooooh. Mr. Arnold gets a chance to redeem himself! (see also: http://nevernotnotes.com/season-7/episode-713-mike-sweeney/, where we learned that Arnold was the only guest to cancel on his way to the show.
I’m maybe 18 minutes in and this is already one of the most ridiculous episodes ever. Big fan.
The lost guest is finally found. Wonder what happened after he took that left turn to Albuquerque?
I think this is the first episode of NNF that is rated R for scenes of graphic violence and gore.
It started a bit slow but it picked up near the middle as Tom became warmed up. I enjoyed it.
From the Middletown, OH Police Report – March 21:
“A 21-year-old Seaman, Ohio man was arrested at 3 p.m. in the 3600 block of Towne Boulevard on suspicion of theft. He allegedly stole $69 worth of ground beef from Meijer, 3651 Towne Blvd.”
My brother! Figured this was timely in light of the slaughterhouse tales from Mr. Arnold.
I liked this one. I was pleasantly surprised with how pleasant Tom was. And I loved his right out of the gate gross-out stories — such an unknowing foil for Jimmy’s meat-phobias!
I have to admit, I only knew of Mr. Arnold because he was used as some sort of a punchline back then but every time he’s mentioned on the podcast, it’s often positive. He’s really pleasant and funny (sounds like Scott Aukerman a few times)!
As soon as I regain feeling in my extremities, I will make good on my pledge to no longer eat meat. And I thought I can handle gore…
Tom Arnold I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Good stuff.
BOY OH BOY. I guess my past suggestion of having Mike Rowe on the show loses a little steam after this episode.
In 10 seasons, this episode is maybe the best one I’ve ever heard from NNF. Tom is such a fascinating and funny guy with so many crazy stories, I swear I literally could not turn it off for a second. But also, I think Jimmy was really on his game this episode, he seemed super in to the guest and helped it move along and cover a lot of territory in a short time. In fact, I’m quite surprised (and impressed) that despite the grossness of Tom’s meat tales Jimmy didn’t stop down the show or anything because that stuff was hard to listen to.
Seriously, good job guys.
Lisa, that’s the problem with Meijer. You go there to get a number 3 pencil and a lava lamp but end up stealing ground beef.
This was one of the more guest-heavy episodes in recent memory. Not as many tangents or riffs, but still fantastic. Tom has a frenetic energy that is contagious, loved it.
“That’s Absolutely Happening”
Yay Dan/Eliot microphone! And video inset border! Awesome.
Anyway, what a super interesting, hilarious, riveting episode, Tom was fantastic.
I’m about an hour into the video episode. Oh boy is Tom Arnold a riveting guest.
His meat packing story was amazing. I became a vegetarian three months ago and re-confirmed why I did so.
He’s pure energy man. I am so glad that you guys had him on. Thanks for the laughs fellas!
When I saw this episode title, I actually rolled my eyes. Tom Arnold? UGH. Then I listened. BOY WAS I WRONG. Hilarious stuff. Arnold was a great guest, and his gross-out stories were a perfect counter to Jimmy. Four stars.
When was this recorded? Was it early enough that the Pardcast Curse could be to blame for the “pink slime” firestorm?
Just wondering. Also: *beef* was not mentioned much in this episode, just pork/Hormel. So, maybe not…
Great episode. Tom fucking Arnold fucking says fuck a fucking lot, but I love his energy and he’s got stories for miles. I hope me makes a return visit.
