“

The master of fashion sits in, gotta love it.

”
Andrea says…
“

Silly me, I thought the bird was the word.

”
Nate says…
“

When is the Video going to be available ?

”
Matt says…
“

Sorry about that Nate — Video’s up now.

”
Nate says…
“

Thanks Matt.

Saw Jimmy in Lincoln this weekend with the Bob and Tom tour…I was worried after the first shitshow came on stage with a mullet and tiger-stripe sweatpants that Jimmy was gonna bomb with the blue collar crowd, but he was great! Really showed the difference between “an act” and a really funny professional comedian. Congrats Jimmy on being able to be involved with both mainstream and alternative comedy… and please come back to Nebraska!

”
Bobh says…
“

Funniest NNF in a long time, and I think Jesse Thorn is my fave guest ever.

”
Tyler says…
“

Anyone else think Jimmy’s airport magazine woman sounded faintly like his Tim Gunn? Designers!

”
Tyler says…
“

Also, Matt’s right about the 227-Amen-Golden Girls-Empty Nest grouping of Saturday night shows on NBC.

”
Andrea says…
“

Tyler, Yes! I actually thought he was going to go into Jim/Tim Gunn.

One comment though on Brian Wilson, and let me preface this by saying that I’m a giants fan (and he is a nice guy from what I heard). In my opinion, he just got too impressed with himself. I get that he is eccentric and players are also human beings who express themselves, but his antics just screams, hey look at me and how interesting I am. He wasn’t that over the top before. You got your guest spot on Leno and Lopez and your Taco Bell commercial, enough. He’s trying to be the lady gaga of baseball, someone who has some talent but feels the need to be so over the top.

Love Jesse Thorn, loved this episode.

I’d love if it if either Jesse’s “These are pieces of Reese’s peanut butter cups?” or “This is a type of tiny book?” made it into next season’s opener. Also acceptable: “I call it the airplot.” At least a video clip of his tiny punches after hearing the story.

The whole story was one of the funniest things in the history of the show.

Finally, I think another acceptable response to “What’s the word?” should be “Thunderbird.”

”
Krys says…
“

Holy shit, I’m STILL laughing at Matt’s ‘Freaknik’ piece. We listeners of color love when you throw us a bone. Well done, Belknap.

(Hi Dan!)

“

(Paraphrasing Jimmy – about Marc Maron in the regata):

“And then he tried to convince the boat that IT had problems too.”

Jesse hasn’t been completely introduced yet and I already had to pause for a full minute to get my laughing under control!

…just got off of staying more than 5 hours late at work, I REALLY needed this today.

Thanks guys!

@61:23 – Great visual for next season’s opening, Elliot.

”
Rich says…
“

Okay, with the Oragami paper hands, anybody notice that Matt sort of went into his Bill Walton voice almost inadvertently? That’s some funny stuff right there.

”
Andrew says…
“

Paper Hands and the Cliche Convention alone put this episode into the NNF Hall of Fame.

I’d be happy to see Jordan back on the show also!

”
sweetjimmyt says…
“

Does anyone else think Elliot is looking like a young Julian Schnabel?

“Let’s get something straight: The Machine doesn’t have friends. I’m not friends with the guy. He lives by his own rules. He travels by night.” -Brian Wilson

The Frida song that Jimmy couldn’t pull:

Love Jesse; this was a great episode.

Matt, be honest, do you like the nickname “The Barber”? It seems so specific and inauspicious.

Bring back The Entrepreneur! It’s respectable and sounds cool, but at the same time is goofy and doesn’t mean much. Calls attention to your good points, though!

I don’t know, I wouldn’t want my nickname to be “The Guy Who Works At The Deli”. The Entrepreneur is way better.

”
GabeM says…
“

The Barber is a great nickname! You’d have to be a fool to think otherwise.

”
Sean Raines says…
“

Ah, Jesse. Whenever I see your name, I think of a Quiznos sub wearing a bow-tie.

Did anyone think of asking John Hodgman’s manager if he has connections to the President of History? We gotta get this World War thing sorted out.

Another great episode, Season 9 has been spectacular week-in, and week-out. Just greatness.

Hi Dan!

”
Mark says…
“

Origami paper hands. Absolutely beautiful.

”
IOnlyReplyToPastShows says…
“

Great guesses guys, I would have never thought of “Chicken Feathers.”

”
Sean Raines says…
“

^ I thought it was Cof-Fee, that’s a CF.

”

“

Jesse only hits home runs. 3 for 3.

”
Pat Francis says…
“

My pick for a next season opening phrase: “You have got to bone up before you buy those shirts.”

”
Kenny says…
“

Oh hey Dan, didn’t see ya there.

”
Different Andrew says…
“

Nancy Reagan’s not dead…yet. I’ll say a prayer for her tonight.

Rich says…

@Ionly, I thought the word was carnivorous, carnivorous.

“

love it when jesse’s on the show. jimmy i love it when you do tim gunn. make it work!!

”
James says…
“

To add to Jesse’s crazy athletes:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-city/8844267/Manchester-City-striker-Mario-Balotellis-house-set-on-fire-by-firework.html

This guy is crazy and I love him for it.

”
Andrea says…
“

@James, I’m glad you mentioned Super Mario (City fan here)! That’s just the latest.

I don’t have a problem with his antics (and he has a LOT). Brian Wilson, strikes me as just trying too hard.

”
Neil says…
“

My favorite episode of the season. Awesome!

”
Cotton says…
“

I was SHOCKED to hear Matt sing the 227 song! Not only did I think it was a regional promo thing (and I’m from the Philly area), but I was starting to think I’d made it up.

I guess that’s a dose of relief?

”
Matt says…
“

I’m pretty sure that 227 rap is from the NBC promo that ran leading up to the show’s premiere.

”
Patrick says…
“

If it’s not dulcet, it’s not Thorn!

my suggestion foir next seasons opener, Matt’s Dean Wormer imitation: “Tobacco Hoooouse!”

or the magazine lady.

Now I know I’ll be in the minority, but I can’t stand Jesse Thorn. His episodes have been good, but (and this is just me) its in spite of him. He comes across as smug, and he did shiv Matt on jigsaw.

But I enjoyed the episode nonetheless. Go figure.

Thanks for giving your ideas. I’d also like to mention that video games have been actually evolving. Technology advances and inventions have helped create realistic and enjoyable games. These kinds of entertainment video games were not really sensible when the real concept was being tried out. Just like other styles of technological know-how, video games as well have had to progress as a result of many ages. This is testimony towards fast growth and development of video games.

Thanks for revealing your ideas. I might also like to mention that video games have been at any time evolving. Modern technology and innovative developments have helped create reasonable and fun games. Most of these entertainment games were not as sensible when the concept was first of all being tried. Thanks for your blog post. The things i would like to bring about is that personal computer memory has to be purchased in case your computer is unable to cope with that which you do with it. One can set up two random access memory boards with 1GB each, as an illustration, but not one of 1GB and one having 2GB. One should make sure the manufacturer’s documentation for one’s PC to be sure what type of memory space it can take.
