Jimmy, Matt and Pat perform live at the Punchline Comedy Club in Atlanta, Georgia. With special musical guest Ellis Paul.
Can’t wait to hear this all again, absolutely great show in Patlanta!
My live NNF playlist is expanding and might just be the best 19.3 hours in live comedy ever produced.
might have been the funniest electronic bay letter yet. great.
Thanks so much for putting this up! I was sad that I don’t live anywhere close to Atlanta and wouldn’t be able to hear it.
The 1978 Atlanta Braves went 69-93, so not quite a good year in terms of baseball.
Sweet Jesus what a show! Classic Pardo, Matt was on fire (as per usual with the live shows… I had no idea how Pat was going to top Crownjeep in terms of eBay letters but he managed to do it by taking it in a hilarious new direction… and Ellis Paul blowing the ROOF off the place! I’ve already rewound and relistened to Kick Out the Lights more times then I’m comfortable admitting. The live bonus episodes are always special and this was one of the best.
@Tyler- My brother!
hey does ellis paul have any live albums? I bought his latest record on the strength of the last podcast he did, but his performance on this one blew me away. Even better than the studio album, I thought. (Also, Jimmy you’d be a perfect talk show late night host — this show totally proved it. Very smooth.)
Eagle-eared listeners will remember that it was Ellis’s double-disc live album from 2000 that made Jimmy a fan all those years ago.
Phenomenal episode! I could just start gushing, but it’d probably be easier if you guys just went to a thesaurus and looked up the word “great.” Great as in “incredible,” not as in “immense.”
Pat’s letter might have been the funniest one he’s ever read. And “Kick Out The Lights” might be my new favorite song. I enjoyed Ellis well enough when he was on the show, but didn’t really feel compelled to go check him out. I will correct my mistake as soon as possible. Seriously, I wish I could meet Ellis Paul and shake his hand for twenty minutes while I babble on about how much I loved that song.
I can’t say enough how awesome this show was. I wish I could’ve been there.
@Tyler Hate to break it to you buddy, but one world title says the Atlanta Braves still suck to this day.
I do love how Pat is incapable of swallowing a joke. As soon as he gets on, he’s compelled to dial it back and rehash certain comments he would have said, had he been onstage at the time. Love it.
I just re-listened to this live episode and I noticed the NNF Curse lives on.
You talked about 9/11 in the beginning of the show, and look who ends up dead on Sunday Night.
Fantastic show, really great.
I heard Jimmy talking to Ellis Paul in Atlanta about “Subdivisions” by Rush. I wonder if he’s ever heard the acoustic cover by a guy named Jacob Moon. Look it up on Youtube. Rush liked it so much, they invited him to perform it at their hall of fame induction ceremony. Check out the rooftop version first. Really, really good.
Wondering if Jimmy was serious when he said Chess was his #3 favorite musical?
Just ordered Ellis Paul: Essentials!
The fist time Ellis Paul was on he was a great guest but I didn’t really give the his music much thought. This episode changed that, I’m a fan now.
My wife and I drove from Nashville to see this show. It was more than worth it!
One other important area is that if you are an older person, travel insurance regarding pensioners is something you should really take into account. The more aged you are, the harder at risk you’re for having something undesirable happen to you while in foreign countries. If you are not necessarily covered by some comprehensive insurance policy, you could have many serious problems. Thanks for giving your advice on this website.
Excellent post. I was checking continuously this blog and I am impressed! Very useful info particularly the last part
