Was lucky to get the video in iTunes for this last night, watched it during my lunch, another classic. Season8 is one for the funny record books, ladies and gentlemen!

”

Got my lotion… ready to listen!

Alright Hammbone is back! Eliot I love the new Dan cam. Also Jimmy, being 3 episodes deep on The Killing, I can safely say: Another great show added to already impressive AMC cannon.

Going right into the Top Five. Great, great episode.

There was a player on the UofO Ducks named Wesley Mallard.

I can listen to baseball talk all the live long day. Jon “Christmas” Hamm kills it. What a nice guy. Please have Proops back on before the playoffs. And, no story would be better than a Lopez “burying the hatchet” story. Get him on the show, and deal with the demons! Nice one, Gents.

I had a t-shirt 11 years ago that said “Who Want to Marry a Hundredaire?”. Also, the softball coach for Cornell U is named Dick Blood.

Hilarious episode!

Ahh 99, 3/3 the number of the beast.

Not to be all hyperbolic or whatever, but this was the best episode of anything probably ever. And I don’t even care about golf or baseball.

Jon Hamm for 4th chair! Or for 10 more seasons of Mad Men. Or both. I’m not picky.

”
Thomas T says…
“

Jon Hamm is a terrific guest. He gets it.
Favorite baseball name? Biff Pocoroba

I love you guys….saw it was Jon Hamm….and actually now love you more.

I nearly lost it when Matt pointed out how the jury foreman slightly stumbled on OJ’s name when reading the verdict. I’ve been entertained by that for years for some reason but it doesn’t get mentioned a lot. I also wonder how many other people feel that the foreman really undersold the suspense aspect. If you listen to her cadence, it’s as if “not guilty” are the least two important words in the sentence.

Also: I’m going to have to start calling looking at something paused “J Geils-ing it.”

Awesome episode.

Hey, you know who’s really funny? Jon Hamm!

”
Matt B says…
“

My favorite all time baseball name was a player who didn’t get much time in the majors, he was in the Expos system so he played here in Indy with the AAA Indians for most of his career.

His name: Razor Shines. Now a coach with the Mets, I believe.

What is it with the Expos and great names? did they just draft on name alone?

”
Andrew says…
“

@Matt B

That would explain their record.

”
Andy says…
“

@Matt B I remember one year my friends and I drafted a football team on names alone. God that was fun.

My favorite baseball player name was always Mickey Morandinii, decent 2nd Baseman for the Phillies in the 90′s. I don’t know why, but I just always loved that name.

Fantastic episode! Season 8 has been so great so far!

Well, my other comment is in moderation limbo due to links from Wikipedia and youtube, but for what it’s worth — Gimace is at *least* 1/4 Irish, because he has an Irish uncle! Uncle O’Grimacy was a short-lived McDonald’s character who slung the Shamrock Shakes in March. Peak years: late ’70s. One resurgence in ’86. Youtube has clips. He looks like Grimace, but is green!

One of the best episodes evah

“

What about Wonderful Terrific Monds the third?

”
Mike Mongiardo says…
“

I couldn’t resist posting this comment since my name was mentioned on the podcast. As I am told there is a small village in Italy that is actually called “Mongiardo”. However, I have not had the time, or inclination, to research the validity of that statement. Since I am a draftsman, as Mr. Pardo has so frequently commented, I am busy “drawing away my lack of a career”. (Your not wrong)

”
Justin says…
“

How about a t-shirt with Jimmy on it and the words “I’m not mad”? He said it in this episode. Makes me laugh every time. Goodness, what a funny episode.

Also – another band name/fantasy team name – Heavily Dependent on Mustard?

”
Diana says…
“

Good swings guys – good swings!

Relaxed Jon Hamm + healthy Jimmy = 90 minutes of joy. Thank you for this– it was such a delight, I had to watch the whole thing again almost immediately.

Jon Hamm and Jimmy have such great chemistry (second only to Schmitty and Jimmy’s)– Loved it, start to finish!

Matt, is the Season 9 intro finished? I SO hope you’ll include:
“Gonna play with the barber, you gotta be ready to get cut.”

I LOVE all of the classic rock chats, but Matt’s been sidelined during several (Steve Almond, Eddie Trunk, lots of Pat/Jimmy concert/album discussions; and Conan always cuts him off…), so how’s about a hip-hop guest– the Barbershop ep!– in Season 9?

Chuck D, maybe? Eric B & Rakim? Pharrell? RZA? Henry Rollins?

”
OGRastamon says…
“

You’ll have to get Chuck D for Part III.
