Unchained with Will Forte.
Unchained with Will Forte.
MacGruber? This is gonna be good…
are you a maneater too, beavis? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QebmJ-ugwmE
Why are we able to listen to an episode before the video is available?
Yes, why?! I demand answers!!
My favorite Beavis & Butthead quote: the video comes on and the lyrics start with “I know it sounds funny but I just can’t stand the pain.” Butthead goes, “That doesn’t sound funny.”
This was a pleasant surprise.
Hell yeah, Will Forte. “Tales of Brave Ulysses” is where it is at.
MACGRUBER was easily one of my favorites of last year, as well. Downright hysterical. Loved this episode!
Called it! About half an hour in i muttered something like, “yeesh, looks like someone got a little stoned recently…” Couldn’t have been prouder of myself (wow, on second thought, that statement is actually truer than I originally intended (why no self esteem, kid?).)! Forte is awesome, but not exactly an improv master I suspect, Groundling training and all, most of his gigs have been writing and reciting 2 minute scripts. Sure, some of the conversational birdies Jimmy badmintoned over the net tended to miss Will’s racket and lie motionless in the grass while he gazed at them (pretending to be attempting to remember what exactly was going on), but, it was definitely a great show.
Forte was out of it sheesh
Loved this episode because it felt more like a season 1 episode – Will Forte was great but he was not the absolute focus of the podcast, which allowed Jimmy and Matt to have more time on the mic.
What?! No love for “One on One”?
You remember Warm Sushi? They opened up for Loudness back in ’84.
Enjoyed the episode, WIll comes across as a genuinely nice and funny guy (the new Henry Winkler?) but surely it’s third chair time soon?
“Cut the Cake” was the song when we cut the cake at my wedding, too. Not as original as I thought. 😉 Great episode!
I liked Forte’s laid back attitude. This show doesnt get a lot of guests like that.
I like how Matt tried to bring Will in with his Patton bit about casting Jimmy for roles about halfway through. Jimmy’s reaction to Will just not getting jokes was awesome, too. Fun Jimmy and Matt episode.
I thought Will was great in this episode, and I don’t understand the ambivalence towards him shown on this thread. It’s not like he was being interviewed and came up flat–he was part of the episode, not the focus of it. Jimmy and Matt were leaning in a little more on this episode, but Will was one of the spices in the sauce. I like it when some performers aren’t as “on” and just have a conversation. This was a great episode.
Only thing I wished Will would have spoken about was his time as a writer for Letterman. Dave’s one of my comedic idols, and would have loved to hear a few stories. Maybe next time.
Great job, guys.
I’ll just pipe in and say that Will was a joy, and I was fascinated with his stories about how he got on SNL.
I don’t know if it was the switch to audio-only, but on the second listen I thought (even more so than on the first) that Will was pretty damn sharp and hilarious. He’s not a steamroller like a Dwyer or an O’Brien, but not everyone needs to be like that.
Will got some hilarious lines in. I hope he comes back. Great episode.
Unrelated to this particular ep, but last night on Conan they went to Juimmy sitting in the audience cracking up after Conan called out his loud “HA!” laugh. It was great to see him and Conan gave him a shout out. Go JP!
Jimmy was in the Dork Forest this week. Outstanding! Two of my favorites in one podcast.
Can’t download the video for this episode. Itunes says file not on server. Tried from pardcast feed says the same thing Help!
This was posted to AST forums, but I’ll post it here: there was an issue with the video server, it’s now fixed, so refresh your iTunes subscription, and it will find the video again.
Good work gentlemen! Funny show and I think Will Forte will stay off the sweet leaf now.
I’ve tried deleting and re-subscribing to the video feed but I’m still not getting the video for this episode.
I’ve gotten feedback that the video is back up now.
Did somebody say Jon Hamm as Superman? o.O
Another great episode, but with The Jimmy et alia, we’ve come to expect nothing else! Love how Will Forte started out polite and shy, but by the end he was all sassy and picking fights — maybe we could call it The Pardo Effect?
I agree with Conan – stop calling Dan out on his interesting history. Us gals would much rather hear about his handsomeness in T-shirts. Also, why all the weight loss, JP? Could the slim and trim thing be preparation for more TV time? Would love to see it! And btw, AWESOMELY wonderful Pardo appearance on The Dork Forest – Jimmy did GREAT job. He and Jackie Kashian, as always, make a wonderfully chatty, goofy team. It’s something about all that mid-western-ness in one place…
Unquestionably believe that which you explained. Your favourite justification seemed to be on the net the simplest factor to be conscious of. I say to you, I absolutely get irked even though individuals think about worries that they plainly do not know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the entire factor not having acquiring aspect-effects , men and women can take a signal. Will in all probability be back to get extra. Thanks.
Will is in my top 10 best SNL cast members. I am so glad to hear his stories and if you have not seen his Ted Turner on Conan promise me something, you will go watch it.
