  1. Cody M. Says:

Anybody catch the subtle Mike Schmidt references in this episode?

  2. Simon Cantan Says:

Great show guys. I must have missed the references Cody :)

If you like George Formby, Matt, you should check out “Sitting on a mine on the Agineau line”. Its about the first world war and its really funny. Probably difficult to track down though. Formby was really good and ahead of his time.

  3. Simon Cantan Says:

Make that, “Sitting on a mine on the Maginot line” :X

  4. Darryl Says:

Imagine Me on the Maginot Line

  6. Beth Says:

I was having a terrible morning yesterday, but when I got to work and saw that I had a new episode to watch my morning turned around. Thanks for the episode. Hilarious as usual.

  7. Pat Francis Says:

Awkward picture of my Mother-in-law with Jon Hamm can be found here: http://consistentjackass.com/about/photos/

  8. Darryl Says:

Holeeee cow, Pat! What a photo! Love it! Looks like they are ready to run away together.

  9. GabeM Says:

    Pat… Pat is the greatest…

  10. Caroline A Says:

GabeM, don’t give Pat any ideas……but, you just might be correct.

  11. Caroline A Says:

I’ve heard rumors that tomorrow the Pardcastathon will be purchasable.
    Audio or video? Or….at all?

  12. Darryl Says:

I’m selling VHS copies of it from the trunk of my Sunfire.

  13. Darryl Says:

Seriously, according to NNF on Twitter, check back here Friday to purchase for $9.99.

  14. Matt Says:

Yeah, it’s audio AND video — high quality in both cases (same as what you get in the Primo feed every week). Actually, the audio (which is broken into three parts, as the show was with our breaks) will be slightly different than the Primo feed because it’s encoded in AAC instead of MP3 — this allowed me to include bookmarks in the files so you can jump right to a guest. The sound quality is the same though, if not slightly better.

So it’s audio in 3 parts, video (mp4) in 9 parts, plus some bonus stuff that I won’t spoil right now. $9.99, proceeds to benefit Smile Train. Enjoy!

  15. Nichole Says:

I love that Jimmy doesn’t want any swearing in the intro, but they drop the F bomb in the theme song.

Oh, and way excited that the pardcastathon will be available for sale. Thanksgiving weekend was crazy and I completely forgot to try to listen. I was really mad at myself the next day when I realized it.

  16. Aarika Says:

Oh, jeez. That picture is the most wonderful encapsulation of the Pardcastathon that I have seen thus far - Pardcast-a-thon: Like a Warm Hand on Jon Hamm’s Chest.

When Pat Francis tells a story, I lean forward. It’s really weird.

  17. Simon Cantan Says:

Thanks Darryl, that’s the one I meant :)

And it was WWII not First World War that it was about. My first post was nothing but errors :) I hadn’t heard the song in about 15 years though. The Fast Show did a great spoof of Formby doing modern songs a while back, but I couldn’t find them on YouTube.

  18. JayC Says:

Jimmy you were right! Pats mother in law is hot. There isnt anyone in that photo I wouldn’t do,

  19. c-fed Says:

Great episode. I like the idea of no swearing in the intro. Just for kicks, someone with a lot of time should make us up a chart of each episode showing how much time elapses before the first curse word comes out. We should probably count any mention of beating-off and rape in there too.

    @Cody M: I caught that reference too :-)

  20. TerryB Says:

LOL, the devil wouldn’t stand a chance against Jimmy’s air fiddle!

  21. zaner27 Says:

Does Mr. Francis wife really have her own podcast? Name?

  22. Derek Says:

This is just a guess but it might be this one: http://www.onthepage.tv/podcast.php

  23. Pat Francis Says:

Mr. Belknap is actually the guest on this week’s episode of On The Page: The Podcast Episode #119. Hear it here: http://feeds.feedburner.com/OnThePage OR go to iTunes to download. I’m pretty sure they spend the first 5 - 10 minutes talking about the “Pardcast-a-thon!”

  24. Darryl Says:

Just FYI: Pilar’s podcast, On the Page, deals with screenwriting. But even if you are not trying to write a screenplay, it’s well worth checking out. First of all, it’s very entertaining. Pilar is an absolute delight to listen to. She is funny and insightful and knows her stuff! The guests are great, and surprisingly candid about their careers and methods. Give it a listen or two!

  25. Zaner27 Says:

Mr. Francis - thank you, like an onion every episode/feedback section brings us a new layer - but I’d love some background on your career in comedy - are you a writer? stand up comedian?

Dave Holmes is on the year end video countdown for vh1 - it seems that all the talking heads have to say serious, sincere comments (or describe what happens in the video) - why bring in comedians for this?

  26. Alex Says:

David Hyde Pierce would’ve been appropriate as the 3rd member of “Piercing Gaze”.
