Jimmy, I’m not a doctor, but this sickness you’re feeling….probably scurvy, suck on a lime.

Buuuut seriously, folks, can we talk about how great this season is so far? 8 episodes of pure gold. Obviously I’ve loved the show for a while, and I have every season except for the first one, but this one is just blowing my mind. So great. I can’t wait until Aukerman and Holmes make their seasonly appearance.

  2. Hugginator Says:

That, gentlemen, was a NICE piece of business. Another one out of the park!

  3. luke Says:

Alright BOOBS! oh wait its just Conan O. I guess I could beat off to his hair. This episode was fantastic. It’s gotta be in the top 8 of this season alone. I loved everything about this podcast. I loved hearing from Jimmy’s boss, I enjoyed Matthews farm humor, and I loved hearing about Jimmy’s ailments. Good stuff. Strong.

  4. davems Says:

terrific! i was really excited when i saw who the guest would be, and conan was great on the show! i think i laughed out loud the most of any episode this season. can’t wait til next week’s episode!

jimmy: my dad’s proud of me!
    conan: yeah, you said that.

  5. Kenny Says:

I gotta say, at first I was against the three camera shoot, I liked seeing the interactions Matt had with the guests. By the end of this episode, I couldn’t imagine how it had worked the other way. If this setup works better for you guys, I’m certainly for it. Nice.

  6. Cotton Says:

oh this is awesome. Went to taping of the show last night, and this was waiting in my iTunes this morning! Can’t wait to listen to this today.

  7. Matt Says:

Re: 3 camera shoot: I figured I wouldn’t be talking as much as usual and Conan would (hopefully) be talking a lot, so it didn’t make sense for us to share a shot. My first thought was to just not be on camera, but then we remembered that we had my old Canon GL1 at the studio from the Pardcast-a-thon, so we set it up.

  8. MrK Says:

I would have loved to see you and Conan squeezed in the corner. But I guess that explains the slightly lower quality on matt.

Love the episode, love the season + pardcast-a-thon. WooOoo!

  9. Darryl Says:

No one squeezes Conan in a —- oh fget it.

Great episode! I was so excited to see it, and excited for Jimmy too. Funny stuff all around.

The three camera shoot was a good idea for this one, but I have to admit I chuckled a few times when the camera switched to Matt, because it looked like he was being piped in (cue theremin music) FROM ANOTHER DIMENSION!

  10. GabeM Says:

Matt looked really starstruck and cute at points. I can only imagine what it was like for him.

I thought it was really funny whenever Conan took Jimmy to task on his old standards (open-faced sandwich, Tommy H, Conan’s our guest and we’re lucky to have him) because he wasn’t familiar with them. So much so that I almost cringed the first few times Jimmy called him “idiot.” Everyone was hilarious throughout.

As a follow up, did Conan or Matt get sick at all?

  11. Matt Says:

Nope! I had a couple of days where I felt like it might be coming on, but it never progressed past feeling a little nauseous. Conan and AK were fine.

  12. shallowgal Says:

Wow! quick work on getting it ready ~ usually I make a quick check on Wednesday about 6pm…. but saw the FaceBook post earlier today & knew it was ready. whoops. I am behind by three, but that’s a good thing (to have extra in the vault). :)

  13. shallowgal Says:

oh ~ and it looks like the time is off here. Or is that “user error”? whatever ~ it’s earlier than that & that’s a good thing too. ;)

  14. Rasmussen Says:

What an amazing guest. Fit into the show perfectly.

  15. Laura Says:

I was super excited when I saw that Conan was the guest… I dropped off a lame work conference call early, cause I couldn’t stand that it was just sitting there on iTunes unwatched.

Favorite parts: The discussion of Jimmy’s potential hypochondria in the beginning. Conan taking over Jimmy’s line of “Conan’s our guest tonight, we’re lucky to have him” the further the episode went on, the Sarah Palin interlude and the discussion of who’s program NNF really is…

Ahhh good stuff gentlemen. Loving season 6.

  16. Ty Says:

Top 8 episode of the season. Conan’s line “It’s legendary” has potential to be in the season 7 intro, I think. Also, Conan saying “You suck” to Matt and making fun of his farm humor. Enjoyed every minute!

  17. LeAnna Says:

    I liked this episode.

  18. Joseph Says:

I couldn’t tell whether Jimmy was more sick or nervous. It was interesting at the beginning where Conan and Jimmy were fighting for control of the show, eventually Conan won out and wouldn’t participate in the “conversational” style of NNF. Maybe next episode Jimmy can take back control.

  19. Steve Says:

He gets it! He geeeeeeets it!

  20. Keith Says:

I saw the title in my podcast catcher and wasn’t for sure if I squealed like a little girl, or wondered if the world was about to implode. Two of my favorite things in comedy Never Not Funny and Conan. Man was this a really hilarious episode.

  21. Brent Says:

Ladies and gentlemen, this was a winner. Conan is the man. Thoroughly enjoyed the episode. The interactions were really good. I liked the three camera shoot. Keep up the good work men. Matt, were you star struck or what?

  22. Simon Cantan Says:

Great episode. I haven’t watched Conan since I was a teenager (Its not on TV over here). I guess it might be strange, but Matt, Jimmy and AK are more celebrities for me than COB. It was funny that they were a little starstruck, though :)

  23. Nitin Says:

    Conan gets it.

    “You…suck.”

    Amazing.

  24. Benjamin Redder Says:

The best episode since 410. Ironically, that was Andy Richter.

  25. Jen Says:

I’m not a doctor, but it sounds like they had some novo-virus thing… not very easily transmitted via air.
This episode was fantastic, and I have a new-found respect for CO’B.

  26. Jen Says:

And, I agree with Jimmy that it is true that the bathrooms are substandard… can we not get more than a 3 mm stream of water from the tap to wash our hands in Sherman Oaks, CA in the 21st century?

  27. Munchman Says:

Great episode! Felt like you kids had a fun time. Big Conan fan, I hope he comes back every season!

But I’m not convinced you guys were not in three separate sound stages and recording this video conference on some sort of Cisco system. And if you didn’t, why not? When will we have the first transcontinental NNF?

  28. Darryl Says:

I’m glad that I never had to find out the truth of The Bathroom during the Pardcast-a-thon. Thank god for a sturdy bladder.

But I believe Jimmy and Jen’s description of it over Conan’s.

  29. Jan Says:

So much gold by everyone on this episode; Pardo’s “Time…SPACE!” towards the end killed me dead. Hilarious the *fifth* time I replayed it. Thanks!

  30. sub Says:

    That. Was. Awesome.

  31. Elliza Says:

“You got the Big Red Giant mad!” I did a spit take on that! WONDERFUL episode! Also Conan doing Jimmy’s “Conan’s our guest” bit. And “I would lovingly brush his hair.”

But what we all really want to know is: Was Conan wearing a hard shoe?

  32. MIke Says:

Another top 8 episode! Not sure if I buy into the 3 cam shoot, but I look forward to seeing CCOB on the show again. Thanks for NNF each week.

  33. ryan Says:

i give twanks that coco was on the nnf showshow… great episode

  34. Ben Says:

Absolutely the best show ever and not just because it was the first episode that Matt didn’t feel compelled to sing.

  35. Zaner27 Says:

Darryl - nine hours and no bathroom. Incredible. Although they could have had a lawsuit on their hands.

  36. Darryl Says:

Yeah, go figure. It wasn’t like I was trying to avoid “El Inodoro de la Muerte.” My travel got delayed so I didn’t have time for actual dinner with many drinks before the ‘thon. I was probably on the verge of dehydration by the time I got there. 7-11 has YooHoos though!

  37. Meg Says:

Was on bridesmaid duty this week, so just getting into the episode.

    My take:

    1. Conan gets it.
    2. Jimmy loved it.
    3. Matt was so excited, but it was fun to watch him be a bit dazzled by where the show has gone.
    4. Andrew? Cool as a cucumber.

  38. Weird from out of town Says:

GL1 Matt? How’d you not go for the XL-1? That was the camera to have back in the day. It’s still a good camera, actually.

  39. Matt Says:

Because it was way more expensive and I didn’t need the option of interchangeable lenses.

  40. MagicPants Says:

Totally unrelated to everything: Which episode did Andrew appear on in Family Guy? Did that air already?

  41. Matt Says:

I’m guessing it won’t air until next year, since the turnaround time for animated shows is about 9 months and he recorded it a couple months ago.

  42. Patrick Says:

I think it would have been funny to get a breakdown on Conan’s dates during the break.

  43. Jackie Says:

My husband and I just watched this episode and I can’t even list all of the times we had to stop and laughed hysterically. At first, I felt a little starstruck (like I was actually hanging out with the great COB), but he fit in perfectly. He gets it. The 3 camera shoot brought a new level of funny too! Amazing episode, fellas!
